stereotypes sell

Image
Stereotypes sell Pop / female. The target audience for this magazine cover would usually be for Teenage girls. The main object on the cover is Justin Bieber, which attracts teenage girls. The covers are stereotypical towards teenage girls due to the fact that the main colour palette is pink. The other stereotype on the cover is the way Justin Bieber looks. He is posing in a way that girls like and it attracts them. There are also lots of other men in a smaller picture which may also attract girls. This is stereotyped to the way girls like. The percentage of girls to boys that buy this would be higher. Rap / ethnicity. The target audience for this rap poster would normally be black men. One of the stereotypical features of the poster that show that it is rap is the sunglasses and the cap. This shows that they are 'cool' in the way that rap music is. Also the tie is not done up properly which shows that they are chavy in the way that rap is also. Pop / Male This m...

DIRT on mock

Q7 Releasing a video game keeps the brand - the film - in the public eye for longer so increases the publicity for the film. This would help sell DVD or streaming releases of the film. This diversifies the company - if it is making money from more than one media form it spreads the risk there always is in releasing a film that you might lose money. Q8 Uses that creating video games for a movie were a good idea and used Blumler and Katz's theory was for entertainment. The video games created entertainment for the world.  The second reason was fro personal identity. It could help us consider who we are and show us our values of what we like. An example of this is Emmet. He is himself and dresses what he shows to be. He doesn't think he is the hero however succeeds in the quest he is set. Next is for relationships. The games could help us find what we relate to and also help us to share what we like. It could lead to communication with others and improve those skills. ...

Uses and Gratifications

Blumler and Katz researched how and why people select certain media products over others. They came cup with four main uses: Entertainment - offers distraction from the world. Identity - helps us consider who we are; what ideas and values we identify with. Relationship - we find things we can share and discuss with others. Information - new information we want to know or take pleasure in knowing.

BBC school report evaluation

1) I worked with Katherine to plan our report however, on the day many people were away so i worked on my own on a different report. I was in the report and planned my questions for my geography teacher Miss Gregan. 2) The storys I researched was 'The weather in the UK and the Arctic this winter' and 'flights from Newquay airport to iceland' 3) The story i went with on the day was 'The weather in the uk and arctic this winter'. 4) The hardest part of creating a news story was the filming and editing. The filming was hard as i had to read and talk whilst looking at the camera at the same time. 5) I think my story followed professional conventions because it was true news and i had some good pictures. 6) The thing i liked most about my story was the pictures in the background. I had these from the day/s i went out sledging with my friends. They shown  all of the snow that came to there uk on the 26th February 2018. 7) I would improve on my filming skil...

Fresh Snow Alert Sparks travel warning Drivers have been directed to stay off major roads unless absolutely necessary as a new snow storm approaches southern Scotland and north-east England. The warning came after hundreds of drivers were stranded overnight on the M74 between Scotland and England. Many drivers were stuck for up to 11 hours on the motorway in South Lanarkshire and Dumfries and Galloway after HGVs blocked the lanes. He said the problems on the M74 had been caused by HGVs losing traction in the icy conditions. He also announced that police were upgrading their travel warning from level three to level four. Scientists took a fresh look at the distribution and physical appearance of patas monkeys in Ethiopia, confirming there were two species rather than one. It was originally described as a separate species in 1862, but was later folded in - incorrectly - with...
