Trailer sound edit

Diegetic Diegetic sound is a real sound that is visible. Like - talking, footsteps, clapping, whistling. Etc. Non-diegetic Non diegetic sound is sound edited in and not visible on a screen. Like - Music, voice over, narrator. What went well. When editing and changing the genre of my clip I managed to make sure the non-diegetic and diegetic sounds were in the right place and started at the right time. I also cut out all of the horrible parts of the trailer as I was making the trailer happy! Even better if. When changing the genre of my trailer I could of added some sounds that were not in the iMovie audios.

My first photoshoot

Image
What went well - I took a focused picture and used some interesting shot types. My favourite photo is the bottom left because it looks gothic and the tree stands out nicely with the blue sky. At first i found it hard to take a focused picture but then found it easier as i found out you need to be far away from the object. When taking photos i need to improve on the lighting. The lighting on the top right photo is not very good.

Planning my horror poster

Image
Katherine costume list: black trousers black top / jumper black shoes Ella costume list: superstars hoodie t shirt   Props: fake knife    SFX makeup: cuts on arm Setting / location: College lane (woods trees) Group role: Katherine standing in the background in black holding a fake knife (the murderer). Ella standing further towards the camera whilst looking back at Ella.

Evaluating my SFX make-up

When using the SFX make-up I think I blended the putty out well to make it seem like it was the real skin and not just stuck on to the arm. The most challenging part of the task was putting a slit through the putty as I didn't want it to go all the way through to the real skin. My weakest area was putting the slit through as I am heavy handed! I need to improve on making the wound seem deeper. I will do this by adding some more black paint and add some more blood.

Detailed Horror Poster Analysis

Image
The media language of the Annabelle horror poster above makes the movie look scary! The colour palette of the poster are black and red. The colour red connotes Blood/Death or Love. Looking at the other media techniques I think in this case it means Death. The doll in the poster (Annabelle) does not look very nice and looks like she is about to kill someone! The background image of the poster is a dark wallpaper which could show a haunted house or something like that. The typography choice on the poster is red which could also show death or blood.  By looking at the poster i think the film Annabelle would be worth watching. However you might not want to watch it if you don't like horror films!
